Christmas eve started with the yummiest brunch at my dad’s house with all the family. Then we did the Christmas story reenactment with the grandkids. Savannah was again the peace bearing angel, this time with an angel in training, Willow. Jack was again our shepard. They have each picked these same parts for the the past 3 Christmas Eves. My kids know who they like to be…and it’s not Mary and Joseph! Luckily we had Aiva and Mike to fill in those parts so Matt and I could just sit and watch this year.
After the story, Santa came and brought gifts for the children.
The second half of Christmas Eve was spent in Mukilteo at Grandma and Grandpa Thorne’s house with the Millers. We had another delicious meal. Aren’t we so lucky to have all this family?
All the piano students of Grandma Thorne played a couple Christmas songs, and Savannah and Willow performed a nutcracker dance.
Monogrammed pillows from Grandma Thorne!
The final hours of Christmas Eve. I always love these quiet and peaceful late nights with Matt, finishing all the secret work and anticipating the magic of the morning to come.
